Recently, Mabel's Label has expanded to include local sewing services including moderate alterations and domestic sewing machine servicing.
Meet the Maker
Bek Pierce
All Mabel's Label clothing items are handmade by Bek Pierce in Orange, NSW.
Following the birth of her first daughter, Bek started making more of her own clothes after finding it hard to express her individual style through standard 'mum' clothes. Bek isn't interested in 'fast fashion'. Instead, she loves creating wardrobe staples that allow people to express themselves, are versitile and will last with time. Bek loves creating fun, comfortable clothes to be kept for years and worn over and over again.
After strating up Mabel's Label in 2021, Bek found herself increasingly motivated and inspired by sustainable fashion ethos. In an effort to minimise the major waste impact the fashion and textile industry has on the planet, Bek has become passionate about using sustainable and reclaimed materials in her clothing. She has also been inspired to learn and teach others how to alter their clothing choices and properly care for and mend their clothes to make them last.
This picture shows Bek in late 2020 in the first pair of overalls she made for herself. Little did she know at the time that this pair of overalls was the birth of Mabel's Label.

Who is Mabel? And why is it her label?
Mabel is the Pierce family's 'unconventional' pet rabbit. Mabel is an indoor, outdoor, travelling, adventure rabbit who goes everywhere with the family. Mabel is the inspiration behind the label name because no matter where she goes she's a standout, bringing joy to her owners and those around her. Just like we hope our clothes will do for you.
We want to produce sustainble, practical clothing items for your everyday adventures. Exciting clothes that can take you from home, to the pub, to a party, to the bush. Just like Mabel. From lounging, to gardening, to parenting, to socialising, to camping.
We also want our clothes to stand up to the wear that comes with being worn over and over again. Mabel's Label is for reducing waste in the clothing industry by creating key wardrobe items to be loved long term by their owners. When you choose your clothes, you should choose them for life. Just like a pet. They should also be treated with just as much care and attention, instead of mishandled and discarded with age/damage.
